One of Camelsdale Cub's finest - Felix Dows-Miller (and his Dad, Robert) has been working hard to lay a new hedge along the boundary of the scout grounds and Marley Lane.
They have started adding the stakes and binders for the laid hedge, over the next couple of weeks this will be extended toward the car park entrance.
Felix wove the majority of the binders onto the stakes which is pretty impressive if only for the sheer amount of force required to manipulate the lengths of wood involved between the stakes.
The plan now is that no later than the end of February a working party is organised to transfer the beech saplings on the enclosed bit of ground to create a hedge in the gaps. Robert is happy to provide direction on the day for volunteers.
The hedging attracted a lot of positive comments from the family in the house on the corner and residents of Marley Lane. We think this is a stunning piece of work.
Volunteers are now needed to transplant some Beech saplings to the base of it. Please drop us a line at
