We want to make sure that the young people of Camelsdale and the surrounds enjoy Scouting for many years to come. That means maintaining an exciting programme in Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections and making sure we have a willing group of adults happy to be the leaders.
We also need to make sure that we keep the HQ and grounds in good shape now and for the years to come.
This page lists just some of the work needed to maintain the HQ and surrounding site. We are always on the lookout for anyone who can spare a few hours to help - either joining a work party or undertaking a task alone.
Please do get in touch if you are able to help in any way at [email protected]. Particular skills we need are building expertise, electricians/people confident with electrics, plumbers and competent DIYers/odd jobbers.
We always on the look out for parent and other volunteers who can work alongside our section leaders and as part of their team to deliver activities for the children and young people. Even if you can't commit every week, the occasional offer of help is always appreciated.
HQ jobs we need help with:
- applying for grants to raise money to replace our current HQ
- extending water and electricity from the hut to the campground
- finishing off our outdoor tree bog (composting toilet)
Annual jobs
- clearing out the gutters
- clearing out the leaves around the hut to protect the timber frame
- clearing holly and scrub
