1st Camelsdale Exec Roles
Scouting in Camelsdale has gone from strength to strength in recent years. We have a great team of leaders as well as all sorts of people who help in other roles. The group executive committee’s job is to support the Group Scout Leader in delivering the best quality Scouting for our young people.
We are having a change around in leader and exec roles. Two of the exec roles will become vacant so we are seeking someone for:
Group treasurer role
Our accounts are in good shape and all our banking is online but with over 100 members, we are now starting to work with considerable sums of money. We need someone (not necessarily a chartered accountant, but some book keeping or other financial experience would be helpful) to work with the section treasurers to ensure we follow the correct procedures and to report the overall financial position to the group executive, at our AGM and to the Charities Commission.
Group Chair role
over the last couple of years we have done a lot of work in ensuring the land which the Scout group owns is in safe hands for the future and we have started to implement a management plan. These are just two aspects which are fundamental to support the Scout group as a whole and the Chair’s job is to work closely with the Group Scout Leader as well as the rest of the Executive Committee to co-ordinate whatever is needed.
These roles would suit a parent of one of our young people, but that’s not a requirement. There will be opportunity for a good handover from the current treasurer and chair, both of whom will continue to have active roles within the group. We will also have a new Group Scout Leader so this is a great moment to get involved, bring some new ideas and make even more progress!
